I rented a light motorcycle that day to tour the area. On the way to Vang Vieng I managed to get the idea about the quality of the roads and knew I had to be careful. The main road that connects Vientiane and Luang Prabang (Vang Vieng in the middle) doesn’t have paved margins. There’s only one lane each way. From time to time there are holes and bumps in the road so you have to pay attention while driving. Along the road there is no street light and therefore it’s dangerous to ride there after dark around 6:30 PM.

Even though I have some experience with ATVs, that was the first time I tried it with a light motorcycle. I paid $5 for one day without insurance. I didn’t look for an automatic gear but for a manual one.

An organized tour of two days goes to the lake directly from Jungle Huts. Cost is 2500 baht and includes a ride to the lake, sailing in a long tail boat to the floating huts, a night-over, trekking in the park, canoing and more.

After half an hour drive we arrived at the lake. We continued sailing in a long tail boat for forty minutes. Krastic mountains are seen everywhere.Jungles and forests of huge trees on the mountains.

הרפתקאות באזור אנשון - מפל חואנגואושו ומערת ארמון הדרקון

באותו יום יצאתי לשני אתרים גדולים באזור אנשון (מחוז גווידז’ואו) – מפל חואנגואושו ומערת ארמון הדרקון (מערת לונגונג). עד לאותו יום המחוז לא היווה עבורי אטרקציה גדולה. הוא שימש בעיקר כנקודת מעבר בין מחוז סיצ’ואן למחוז גואנגש’י, בו נמצאים גווילין ויאנגשואו.

בהתאם להמלצת בעלי המלון שבו שהיתי באנשון (חדר חביב עם שרותים צמודים ומקלחת עם מים חמים ב-50 יואן, לאחר מיקוח קל), כל אחד מהאתרים הצריך יום שלם, אך מכיוון שהייתי קצר בזמן רציתי לאחד בין האתרים. ממדריך הלונלי פלנט הבנתי שהדבר אפשרי ושיש מיניבוס העובר בין האתרים, נתון שהתברר בהמשך כשגוי.

בעל המלון המליץ להגיע קודם למפל חואנגאושו, האתר “הגדול” מבין השניים, משם אוכל להמשיך במיניבוס למערת ארמון הדרקון (לונגונג דונג), “הקטן” מבינהם.

מערת המים ביאנגשואו וגבעת הירח

אחת האטרקציות הפופולאריות ביאנגשואו היא מערת מים, או למעשה מערות מים. יש ביאנגשואו מספר מערות מים שמתוחזקות על-ידי מקומיים. רובן נראות אותו הדבר, כך שאין צורך להכנס ליותר מאחת ועדיף לאתר את הטובה מכולן. לא מעט מערות מים טוענות כי הן הן “מערת המים המקורית” או שהן מערת המים הטובה ביותר. כל התארים האלו אינם שווים הרבה ומומלץ להתייעץ עם תיירים שביקרו במקומות הללו בימים האחרונים כדי לקבל חוות דעת יותר אובייקטיבית.

מערות המים נמצאות רובן ככולן על הכביש הראשי היוצא מיאנגשואו. אפשר להגיע לשם במיניבוס או באופניים שכורות (כחצי שעה רכיבה). הבילוי במערה אורך לרוב כשעה עד שעתיים ובמהלכו נכנסים לאמבטיית בוץ ענקית. מומלץ להביא נעליים המתאימות להליכה במים (עם אחיזה טובה בסלעים), בגדים שלא אכפת לכם ואם תרצו גם פנס.
