It’s been two weeks since the day I arrived in Bangkok. Time flew away like crazy. I woke up early in the morning, walked to the Luang Prabang harbor, ten minutes away from my guest house, Salika. The hosts were nice. They even let me use their phone when I needed. The place is not so fancy, but had toilets and hot water inside the room, which was enough for me.
Sailing to Pak Beng on the Mekong River
The slow boat to Pak Beng, on the way to Huay Xai, leaves at 8:30 AM. I came forty five minutes before departure to get a padded seat on the boat. It’s a medium sized boat that had comfortable seats like you can find on a bus. Some less comfortable seats are made of wood. Those who come early can get better seats. Since this is a seven hours sail, it’s recommended to come as early as possible.
