On Wednesday I planned to go to the floating village but instead, an acute throat ache developed in the last days made me look for a western clinic to make sure it’s not related, by any chance, to Malaria. The hospital I came to was very new. In fact, it just opened in January 2007, a month ago. Royal Angkor International Temple is a private hospital which belong to a subsidiary of the same company which owns the famous Bangkok International Hospital in Thailand.
Prices in the Cambodian hospital are sky high. Without a medical insurance you to think twice or more if it’s even worth it. I paid $100 for a doctor appointment, $100 for medicines and $20 for contacting my insurance. An additional fee of 3.5% over that amount was charged for using a credit card.
